Nutrition on Campus

Everyone knows it's fairly easy to grab something quick to eat on campus when you're on the run to class. But how nutritious are those quick eats and how easy is it to find the nutrition facts? This semester I will focus on looking at the choices offered on campus and if they are easily and clearly labeled for nutritious content.

  1. There were some very good questions posed in the paragraph that went along with the slideshow. I also think I understand that this is the first slideshow of a continuous segment that will be ongoing throughout the semester. However I feel like this would have been a good opening paragraph to go along with at least the next segment. Some information on maybe where to find the nutrition facts about each of our food locations would have been nice, and then the next segment could go a little more into detail of which foods are most nutritious and where to find them. Maybe I'm just not understanding correctly what is trying to be presented here, but I felt like the video and paragraph just wasn't fully loaded or that pieces were missing after I got done reading and watching this piece. I did like the pictures and think that this project will be very informative and something I would definitely take a closer look at once it's completed.

  2. This post brings up an interesting issue about food right here on campus. Because most students have no choice but to eat meals on campus at one point or another, we often don't have the option of worrying about whether or not we are getting proper nutrition. If food on campus is not clearly labeled with it's contents and nutrition facts, how can students be expected to make the healthiest possible choice? In order to have a successfully functioning, healthy food community we need to know what we are eating. The use of pictures in this post is great for bringing the attention specifically to food on campus, and helps create a thought flow about easy verses healthy when eating the food provided here.
